Celebrate Fall with these Spiced Pumpkin Whoopie Pies. Sweet and tangy vanilla cream cheese filling is sandwiched between soft, cake-like spiced pumpkin cookies in this easy whoopie pie recipe.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies with Cream Cheese Filling | JenniferCooks.com

I first ate Pumpkin Whoopie Pies when I lived in Houston back in 2011. One of my friends and neighbors made some and brought them over, and I was in love!  I love pumpkin bread and these remind me of delicious pumpkin bread with a wonderful cream cheese filling sandwiched between.

Tips for making great Whoopie Pies:

  1. Make sure to leave plenty of room between spoonfuls of cookie batter so that the cake-like cookie can spread – leave about 3 inches between each!
  2. Let the cookies cool completely before filling.
  3. For a shortcut, fill whoopie pies with Marshmallow Fluff – this is a traditional method of filling for this type of cookie.
