Fresh Peach Martini

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe
Fresh Peach Martini

Peach season in Texas doesn’t whisper—it hollers from roadside stands and backyard trees, daring you to eat one without letting the juice run down your arm.

When the peaches are ripe and the evenings are long, I like to shake up this easy peach martini. It’s bright, a little cheeky, and full of real fruit flavor thanks to muddled peach, vodka, schnapps, and a splash of lemon.

Whether you’re catching up with friends on the porch or winding down solo, this cocktail is pure summer in a glass.

Why This One’s a Keeper

This martini shakes up in five minutes and sips like something off a high-end bar menu—but without the fuss. It’s crisp, peach-forward, and just tart enough, thanks to real lemon juice and fresh fruit.

Got one lonely peach hanging around? Give it a second life in this easy cocktail. No mixologist tools required—just a shaker, a peach, and maybe a shady porch swing to enjoy it on.

Fresh Peach Martini

Where This Recipe Comes From

This cocktail was inspired by summer trips through the Texas Hill Country, where roadside stands sell peaches so fragrant they practically perfume the car.

I’ve tweaked this recipe over the years to include just the right balance of vodka kick and juicy peach flavor, with a nod to classic martini proportions.

Want to make it more Texan? Try Deep Eddy Peach Vodka for a local twist. You can even swap in triple sec if you’re out of orange liqueur.

Round Up Your Bar Tools

  • Cocktail shaker – To chill and mix all the ingredients
  • Muddler – Helps release the peach juices
  • Jigger or shot glass – For measuring spirits
  • Fine mesh strainer – Optional, for a smoother pour
  • Martini or coupe glass – Chilled and ready to serve

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Ripe peach – Fresh and juicy for best flavor
  • Vodka – Grey Goose or your favorite high-quality brand
  • Peachtree schnapps – Adds that sweet peach punch
  • Orange liqueur – Triple sec or Cointreau both work
  • Fresh lemon juice – Balances the sweetness
  • Ice cubes – Essential for shaking
  • Fresh peach slice – For that final touch of flair

Let’s Get to Shakin’

Chill the Glass

  • Pop your martini or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prep the cocktail.

Muddle the Fruit

  • Add the sliced peach to a cocktail shaker and use a muddler to smash it well, releasing all that juicy goodness.

Add the Spirits and Ice

  • Pour in the vodka, schnapps, orange liqueur, and lemon juice.
  • Toss in a handful of ice.

Shake It Up

  • Seal the shaker and give it a good shake—about 20 seconds—until it’s ice-cold and a little frosty on the outside.

Strain and Serve

  • Discard the ice from your glass if you used ice water.
  • Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass.

Garnish and Enjoy

Top with a fresh peach slice, maybe even a sprig of mint, and serve immediately.

Fresh Peach Martini

Little Tricks from My Kitchen

  • Use super-ripe peaches. The softer and juicier, the better. If they’re fragrant enough to make you smile, they’re perfect for muddling.
  • Chill your glass the real way. Don’t just run it under water—let it sit in the freezer while you prep. It makes every sip smoother.
  • Try Deep Eddy Peach Vodka. It’s made in Texas and gives this drink an extra burst of peach flavor without adding more sugar.
  • Fresh lemon juice only. Bottled juice just doesn’t bring the brightness. Squeeze it yourself—you only need a half-ounce.
  • Want it silky? Strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer to remove peach pulp and ice shards.

Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be the go-to bartender at every summer gathering—peach martini in hand.

Shaken or Stirred, Here’s What Folks Ask

Can I make a peach martini with canned peaches?

Yes, just drain them well and skip any added syrup. Fresh is best, but canned works in a pinch.

What alcohol pairs best with peaches in cocktails?

Vodka and peach schnapps are classic, but bourbon and rum also play well with peach flavors.

Can I batch peach martinis for a party?

Absolutely! Just multiply the ingredients and shake each serving fresh, or stir a large batch and chill it in the fridge.

What’s the difference between schnapps and liqueur?

Schnapps is a type of liqueur, typically lower in alcohol and sweeter, perfect for fruit-forward cocktails like this one.

How do I get the perfect martini texture?

Shake hard and fast for about 20 seconds to aerate and chill—then strain immediately into a chilled glass.

What to Do with the Leftovers

Peach martinis are best enjoyed fresh, but if you have extra, store the mixed cocktail in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Give it a good shake before serving again.

Don’t freeze it—it’ll separate.

For leftovers of fresh peach slices, use them in smoothies, over yogurt, or muddled into sparkling water.

Instructions

Chill the Glass

  • Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes, or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.

  • In a cocktail shaker, add the sliced peach. Use a muddler to press and mash the fruit until it releases its juices.
    ½ ripe peach

Add Liquids and Ice

  • Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Pour in vodka, Peachtree schnapps, orange liqueur, and fresh lemon juice.
1½ ounces Grey Goose vodka, ¾ ounce Peachtree schnapps, ½ ounce orange liqueur, ½ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • Discard the ice from the glass if using ice water, then strain the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass.

Garnish and Serve

  • Garnish with a fresh peach slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Peach ripeness matters: Use a ripe, juicy peach for the best flavor. If your peach is a little firm, try letting it sit on the counter for a day or two to soften up.
  • No fresh peaches? Frozen peach slices work in a pinch—just thaw them first. Avoid canned peaches in syrup unless you rinse them well and adjust the sweetness.
  • Make it sweeter or stronger: Prefer a little more kick? Add a splash more vodka. Like it sweeter? A touch of simple syrup or peach nectar will do the trick.
  • Don’t skip the lemon juice: It balances the sweetness and brightens the whole drink. Lime juice can work too, but the flavor will shift slightly.
  • Want to batch it? You can mix the muddled peaches, vodka, schnapps, liqueur, and lemon juice ahead of time (multiply by servings needed). Chill, shake individual portions with ice, and strain when ready to serve.
