Coturnix Quail

Coturnix quail are a fun alternative to raising poultry in an urban homestead.  These miniature game birds produce gourmet quail eggs and meat while taking up a small space, which makes them a great addition to a small farm or an urban homestead.

This species of quail are very efficient.  A hen can start laying at less than two months old and will produce about an egg a day.  Not only are these eggs beautiful, but they are almost identical in taste to chicken eggs.  They make great hors de oeuvres and are great boiled and sliced in half for salads.

There is a big difference in size between quail eggs and standard chicken eggs. It takes about 3 Coturnix quail eggs to equal 1 chicken egg. We are raising them for their meat and eggs.
