  1. Cook sausage in skillet over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Stir in butter to melt. Add flour; mix well. Gradually stir in milk and salt; bring to a simmer and cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper to taste; cook 2 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over split biscuits.
