Ingredients

Scale

2 (8-count) cans refrigerated garlic crescent roll dough
1 (6-ounce) package pepperoni slices
6 mozzarella string cheese sticks, each cut into 3 equal pieces
Warm marinara sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prep

  • Heat the oven according to the temperature listed on the crescent roll package.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Cut each mozzarella string cheese stick into three equal pieces.

Assemble

  • Separate the crescent dough into individual triangles.
  • Arrange about 4 pepperoni slices near the wide end of each triangle.
  • Place one piece of mozzarella on top of the pepperoni.
  • Starting at the wide end, roll the dough around the filling toward the pointed end.
  • Pinch the seams and tuck the sides underneath to help keep the cheese from leaking during baking.
  • Gently roll each filled crescent between your hands or on the countertop to smooth and seal the dough.

Cook

  • Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  • Bake according to the package directions for the crescent rolls, or until the dough is golden brown and fully baked.
  • Let the rolls cool for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

••Serve warm with heated marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.

Substitutions

  • Use regular crescent roll dough if garlic-flavored dough is unavailable.
  • Replace mozzarella string cheese with small pieces of low-moisture mozzarella.
  • Add a pinch of Italian seasoning or grated Parmesan before rolling for extra flavor.

Serving Suggestions and Pairings

  • Serve as an appetizer, game day snack, or quick lunch.
  • Pair with marinara, ranch dressing, or garlic butter for dipping.
  • Round out the meal with a Caesar salad, Italian chopped salad, fresh fruit, or vegetable sticks.

Storage

  • Refrigerate leftover rolls in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a 350°F oven or air fryer for 5–7 minutes, or until heated through. Avoid microwaving if possible, as the crust will soften.

Freezing

  • Freeze baked and cooled rolls in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat directly from frozen in a 350°F oven for 12–15 minutes, or until hot throughout.
