Instructions

  1. Prep
  2. Set the oven to the temperature listed on the crescent dough package, typically 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Open the dough and separate it into 16 triangles.
  4. Spread 1½ teaspoons of chocolate-hazelnut spread over each triangle, leaving a narrow border of uncovered dough around the edges.
  5. Assemble
  6. Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle toward its point, keeping the filling enclosed.
  7. Gently pinch any openings closed to reduce leaking. Arrange the rolls with the pointed ends underneath, spacing them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake and Serve
  9. Bake according to the dough package directions, generally 10–13 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Bake one sheet at a time for consistent browning, or bake both together and rotate the pans halfway through.
  10. Let the rolls cool on their pans for 5 minutes.
  11. Use a small fine-mesh strainer to dust the tops with powdered sugar. Serve warm.

Notes

Substitutions: Use another chocolate-hazelnut spread or a smooth chocolate spread with a similar consistency. Avoid thin chocolate sauces, which can leak during baking.

Serving Suggestions and Pairings: Serve with strawberries, raspberries, coffee, or cold milk. Add them to a brunch spread alongside eggs and fresh fruit.

Storage: Cool completely before placing in an airtight container. Keep at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Reheat at 300°F for 5–8 minutes, or until warmed through.

Freezing: Freeze cooled rolls without powdered sugar in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then reheat and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
