Chandabeer or Beerdalier?

By Jennifer Leave a Comment

This past year I decided to start saving and collecting wine bottles to make something crafty.  I asked all of my friends to save their bottles for me so that I could make something fun and funky for my backyard pergola.  I wanted some sort of hanging light fixture from the middle of it, but wasn’t quite sure what it should look like.  After a few sketches I came up with this:
The daytime shot isn’t all that glamorous…
…but look at it all lit up at night…
Pretty fun, huh?
I thought it turned out great…I love to have it on at night, it just makes everything seem so festive!
The top is made out of a round iron wall plaque.  After stuffing white mini lights into each beer bottle, Quinton helped me attach them all around the top.  From there, we stuffed all the rest of the wine bottles with clear mini lights, except for the frosted clear bottles, (we stuffed them with multi mini lights).  Next we staggered the wine bottles at different lengths to give a sort-of chandelier effect.
Next up…I’ll be bordering all my herb garden bed lines with wine bottles.  I’ll let you know when that project is finished!
So, what do you think of the Chandabeer?
