Sweet, juicy peaches are grilled until lightly caramelized, then finished with a warm cinnamon brown sugar topping, crunchy toasted walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. Serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy summer dessert that's simple enough for weeknights and special enough for backyard cookouts.

Ingredients

Scale

4 ripe peaches, halved and pits removed
3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup toasted walnuts, roughly chopped
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
4 tablespoons honey, optional

Instructions

Prep

Cook

  • Place the peaches cut-side down on the hot grill.
  • Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until distinct grill marks appear.
  • Brush the skin side of each peach with the remaining melted butter.
  • Turn the peaches over so the cut side faces up.
  • Divide the brown sugar mixture among the peach halves, sprinkling it evenly over the cut surfaces.
  • Continue grilling for 3 to 5 minutes, until the peaches are tender and the sugar has melted into a glaze.

Assemble

  • Transfer the grilled peaches to serving plates.
  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream alongside each serving.
  • Sprinkle with the toasted walnuts.
  • Drizzle with honey, if desired, and serve immediately.

Serving Suggestions

  • Pair with pound cake, angel food cake, or grilled brioche.
  • Top with whipped cream, mascarpone, or Greek yogurt instead of ice cream for a different finish.
  • Serve alongside grilled pork chops or chicken as a sweet side dish.

Storage

  • Store leftover grilled peaches in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in the microwave or a skillet before serving.

Freezing

  • Freeze cooled grilled peaches in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
  • Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and warm before serving. The texture will be softer after freezing, making them especially good over oatmeal, yogurt, or pancakes.
