Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-low heat and add the bacon. Cook until it’s brown and crisp and most of the fat is rendered.
  • Stir in the onion and bell pepper and saute until the onions and peppers are soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the paprika, salt and pepper. Cook for another couple of minutes.
  • Stir in the vinegar, BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and molasses until combined.
  • Stir in the baked beans and bring the mixture to a boil, then turn off the heat.
  • Taste beans and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  • If desired, lay a few strips of extra bacon across the top of the beans.
  • Place Dutch oven in preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
