Instructions

  1. Pre-warm a heatproof glass Irish coffee mug by filling it with hot water; set it aside.
  2. Gently heat the cream in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it's warm but not boiling. Shake the warm cream in a tightly sealed jar until slightly thickened and frothy, or use an electric milk frother for the same effect.
  3. Empty the hot water from the mug. Add sugar and pour in the hot coffee, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Mix in the whiskey.
  4. Using the back of a spoon, float the warmed cream over the top of the coffee. Serve immediately.
