{ Secret Recipe Club } :: Chocolate Cobbler

This is my very first blog posting for The Secret Recipe Club and I’m really excited to be participating!  It has been a great networking tool for me to find blogs that I have missed out on!  This month I was paired up with Glenda Embree’s site, Busy-At-Home and I’m so glad I found her!  Her site is packed with all kinds of great tidbits, from homeschooling (she’s a pro!), to recipes, to tips and tricks on frugal living.  She’s a wealth of information and has some great recipes to boot!
As I was browsing through her recipe index to settle on a recipe of hers that I would make and feature, I stumbled upon Chocolate Cobbler…and Glenda…you had me at “Oh my holy heaven!”
So, chocolate lovers unite and settle in for this ooey, gooey, molten death-by-chocolate goodness!
Begin by whisking together flour, baking powder, salt, 1 cup sugar and cup cocoa in a mixing bowl.  Add the milk, butter, and vanilla; mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon until the batter is nice and smooth.
Spread the batter in an ungreased 9×13 baking pan.

In a separate, smaller bowl, mix the brown sugar, 1/2 c. cocoa and 1 c. white sugar.  Spread the dry, mixed topping ingredients over the batter in your baking pan.
Drizzle the hot tap water over the dry ingredients.  IMPORTANT!!  Do Not Stir!
Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour.

Served it warm, topped with vanilla ice cream.  Enjoy
