I have tried to make this from start-to-finish in my oven in the past, but end up setting off the smoke detectors in my house! I don’t have a good vent hood in my little Rat Shack…I’m actually in need of a good kitchen makeover (if anyone out there feels like donating to my cause! :))
So, this time, I layered the bacon strips between several layers of paper towels and microwaved it for about 10 minutes (for 1 lb of bacon) until it was almost completely done. Then I sprinkled it with brown sugar and smoothed it over with my hands. I then removed the strips from the paper towels and turned them brown-sugar-side-down onto a wire cooling rack fitted over a baking sheet. Lastly, I sprinkled the other side with brown sugar and smoothed it over. I finished it off in a 425 degree oven for about 8 minutes.
It turned out great AND without the deafening alarms going off!

1/2 c. light brown sugar
